"NEW LIGHT"
We are blessed to be entering the
5th year hosting our “New Light” Symposium.
Due to its increasing success, I feel it is necessary
to revisit the history of “New Light” for
the benefit of our customers that are new to the idea
and to Madison Group.
What “New Light” is
not
“New Light” is not a trade show, it’s
a two-day industry tutorial. Instruction is provided
by equipment providers who are carefully selected
for the quality of their product and the specific
part it plays in typical customer networks.
What “New Light” is
“New Light” is a Symposium designed
to help our customers stay current on industry
trends and the latest offerings from some of our
business partners. Emphasis is placed on total
network, technical education, and customer exchange
of ideas. In addition, each New Light offers discussion
of a hot industry topic not necessarily related
to product – such as IP technologies, NECA
funding, and RUS loans.
How it works
About 2 times a year, typically in the Spring
and Fall, we host a 2 1/2 day “New Light” Symposium.
We invite 12 to 13 business partners to participate.
While they are encouraged to bring equipment to
display on a table top, we arrange for a systems
specialist from their organization to take the
lead in presenting a 1 hour, in-depth, and very
interactive lecture on a specific offering or a
series of offerings from their company. We select
our business partners for each Symposium based
on feedback from customers and new offerings that
we feel would be of interest.
All Work and No Play?
We do offer something that resembles traditional
trade shows. At each “New Light” we
will have a golf outing and / or other events guaranteed
to entertain all who attend. We also strive to
host the Symposium at comfortable and attractive
sites hoping to give everyone a chance to enjoy
some local Memphis flavor.
Who Should Come?
Our “New Light” Symposiums are designed
for technical and managerial personnel that want
to learn more about industry trends and see what
is available today and where the technology is
headed in the near future. It is also an excellent
venue to talk with others that have made the leap
into new technologies and learn from their experiences.
Our customers’ interaction with each other
makes this a worthwhile event even without presentations
from our partners. Couple that with one hour informational
sessions and you have the recipe for a successful
outing.
